Roxanne, 18, from Vines Cross, completed the two-year A2 and AS level course in just one year. ‘I think I did so well because the college gave me the freedom to work in my own way and follow my own ideas’ she said. The college, which holds specialist visual and performing arts status, is delighted with the grades achieved by this years Art students. Art Department Head, Emma Watson, said ‘we are thrilled that Roxanne and the rest of our students did so well in their exams.
The students’ hard work, creative talent and commitment really paid off and their results are extremely well deserved’.
Head Teacher, Alan Powell has praised the talents of the students and commitment of the staff ‘The Arts College is going from strength to strength. We had a 100% pass rate at A level Art this year - with 64% of those students receiving a grade A pass. This is a huge achievement and reflects the fantastic work taking place here at Heathfield’.
The college also celebrated GCSE success, with 90% of students gaining grades A* - C this summer.
